What will the Initial Consultation entail?

We will visit your home at a time convenient to you and ask you about your property, its history on the market, and whether you have any specific timescales to accommodate - perhaps if you’ve already found a new home to move into. We’ll also take lots of photographs and measurements. The initial consultation will take approximately 1 hour.

Devon Home Staging covers Plymouth and the South Hams.

How much should I budget for my staging rental pack and installation?

You should budget around 0.5% to 1% of your property’s value, remembering that home staging can yield up to a 10% increase in the sale price. You may also need to budget for decorating services if it is necessary to cover any bright or busy wall finishes or floor coverings (you can of course do this yourself, if competent).

What about the outside space?

Well-maintained outside spaces are huge selling points that shouldn’t be overlooked. Although we do not stage the garden or frontage, we do recommend, as a minimum, that grass is kept short, weeds are removed and any clutter taken to the refuse centre.

My home is already on the market - can you still help?

Absolutely - if your home has been on the market for a while with little interest, rather than dropping the price, ask your Estate Agent whether home staging might help. It’s worth bearing in mind that if you lower the price by 5%, you’ll certainly be 5% down, however, if you maintain the price and spend 1% on staging you could be up to 9% up (on the basis that home staging can increase the selling price by 10% - Home Staging Association, 2023).
